Sugar Bush trip

Watching the sap flowing

Enjoying walking alone
Similar to how rubber trees provide the sap that rubber is made from, maple trees provide a sap that can be boiled to make maple syrup, maple candy etc. As maple syrup and maple candy are sweet, a visit to a farm where maple trees are grown and harvested is called 'visit to a sugar bush'. Canada has the perfect climate for growth of maple trees, and therefore, a visit to the sugar bush is a spring tradition for most Canadian families.

Philip was scared of this Stanley bear
Yesterday we went to a sugar bush at Stanley's Farm with 2 other families; Jon and Jen Woerlen with their 2 kids & Jen's 2 siblings, along with Janet and Matt Efseaff & Calvin. This sugar bush had a petting farm, a little museum with a short presentation of how maple products are made and a dining room with fresh maple syrup on pancakes, waffles with other breakfast items. It was a delicious meal and a perfect day for this outing.
